Looking for a challenging and rewarding nursing opportunity? We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team on the inpatient Adolescent behavioral unit. As a Psych Adolescent RN, you will be responsible for the direct and indirect care of children and adolescents, ages 6-18, with major depression and ADD/ADHD. The RN will work with an interdisciplinary team to provide medication administration and education, daily documentation of patient care, and managing/monitoring behaviors throughout the unit. In addition, the RN will participate in and lead education groups.
Job Requirements:
Associates Degree in Nursing required
Valid State of Maine RN license required
BLS certification required
1-3 years previous nursing experience working with children and adolescents preferred
At least 1 year previous nursing experience required
CPI Trained
Other Skills Required:
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, providers, and coworkers
Ability to work in stressful situations and manage stress appropriately
Ability to set strong professional boundaries
Dedicated team player
Self-directed, able to stay busy in downtime
