Job Title: Registered Nurse Emergency Psych RN

Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Registered Nurse Emergency Psych RN to join our team in Lewiston, ME. As an Emergency Psych RN, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients experiencing mental health crises and emergencies, including assessing and treating acute psychiatric conditions, administering medications, and providing crisis intervention services. You will work in collaboration with other healthcare team members to ensure patient safety and provide optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Assisting patients and families in understanding mental health conditions and treatment options
• Maintaining accurate and complete patient records and documentation
• Conducting comprehensive psychiatric assessments of patients in crisis
• Providing patient education and discharge planning
• Administering medications and monitoring for their effectiveness and side effects
• Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care
• Participating in quality improvement initiatives
• Developing and implementing patient-centered care plans
• Providing crisis intervention and de-escalation interventions

Qualifications and Skills:

• CPR certification
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, urgent care environment
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in psychiatric or emergency care settings
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of local and state mental health laws and regulations
• Active RN license in the state of Maine
