Location: 409 Caroline St., Baltimore, MD 21205
Shift:
Full Time (40 hours)
Evening Shift: 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm
Weekend work required
Non-Exempt
Position Summary:
Patrols JHMI campus via foot, mobile unit or bicycle to protect against illegal activities, theft, fire, vandalism, hazardous conditions, infringements, etc.
Education:
- Assignment to the Communications Center requires successful completion of 911 and Communications dispatch training
- Work requires a comprehensive knowledge of security functions as would normally be acquired by significant experience in a security operation preferably with completion of a High School degree or equivalent. Requires acceptable completion of basic security officer training.
Work Experience:
- Must be able to meet the necessary requirements in the Offer of Employment letter.
- The candidate must have one (1) year of security experience in the Protective Services Officer program at the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions or be a law enforcement officer who has graduated from an accredited law enforcement training academy. Must be at least 21 years of age.
Knowledge/Skills:
- Requires comprehensive knowledge of security functions.
- Requires the ability to comprehend verbal and written direction.
- Work requires familiarity with handling emergency situations, writing routine security reports and using safety equipment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills necessary in order to deal effectively with JHMI personnel and the public.
- Requires current certification in use of Corporate Security Services self defense equipment.
