Job Description

Work Schedule: Eastern Time Zone, Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm

Hours: 40 per week

***This role is hybrid. You must be able to commute and work in the office 2 or more days a week in one of the following locations: Wellesley, MA, Woonsocket, RI, Hartford, CT or New York (Soho), NY.


Description:


The Senior Proofreader will work directly with the Creative Director, Marketing colleagues, Copywriters and Designers to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all proofreading projects.



Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years' related experience in an advertising and marketing environment

• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, accurately, professionally, and diplomatically, both verbally and written, at all levels.

• Must have experience with Word, Excel, and Acrobat. InDesign skills preferred.

• Performs proofreading tasks with a high degree of accuracy and an eye for consistency and detail.

• Demonstrated ability to maintain information in strictest confidence.

• Sound judgment and the ability to make good editing decisions.

• Experience in an advertising and marketing environment is preferred.

• Proven ability to work independently and to effectively prioritize assignments.

• Expanded skills to provide editing when requested preferred.



Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in Workfront workflow system (or equivalent)

• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite

• Experience with Mac applications a plus

• Solid understanding of marketing communications

• Up-to-the-minute digital skills; ability to troubleshoot and optimize digital systems to meet department needs



Education

High School Diploma or GED required.

Bachelor’s degree in writing, English, Communications, Arts or other relevant major is required.
