Project Manager- Owners Representative- Data Center

The Company

A leading owners representative who solely specialise in data center builds. This firm is going through a rapid expansion throughout North America, with a long-term vision to operate in EMEA and South America. This is an excellent opportunity to join an ambitious company working with key hyperscalers & owner-operators in the data center industry.

The Role

The Project Manager (PM) will act as the Owners Representative managing the Owner's design, engineering, procurement and relationship with the general contractor. The PM's primary responsibilities include construction oversight, budgeting and scheduling, contract administration, project reporting and facilitate key stakeholder meetings.

Summary of Responsibilities

• Coordinate between the GC and the design team the process and schedule for generating and closing out the various punch lists.
• Confirm with the GC the agreed to change management process and continually enhance its procedures.
• Participate in the BIM coordination of the underground and overhead MEP scope.
• Review and approve all MEP manufacturing vendor’s monthly invoices.
• Ensure general contractor's budgets align with clients budget distribution & strategic structure.
• Review and approve the GC’s closeout plan and ensure all items are per contract documents.
• Ensure the GC provide cost projections for the MEP trades with each month’s billing.
• Generate monthly financial budget update customized for the client’s review.
• Participate in scope review meetings for major packages with top potential bidders.
• Actively be involved with bid process & evaluate proposals.
• Lead jointly with the GC the daily commissioning meetings and ensure all technical support is present.
• Follow up regularly with the long lead equipment vendors to ensure manufacturing progress is on schedule.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

• Strong proficiency in Excel, MSWord, MS Project, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Bachelors Degree and 5+ years relevant construction project management experience and/or 7+ years construction experience and a High School Diploma
• High levels of initiative, self-direction, and attention to detail.
• Capable of planning and organizing internal and external resources.
• Willingness to take on responsibilities with a commitment to perform.
• A comprehensive understanding of the coordination aspects and related requirements of all design disciplines
• Previous Data Center construction experience required
