Pay : $55/hr. to $60/hr.


Duration: (06- 07)(Possibility of Extension)

Description:

The Hoover Institution is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic project manager to provide support for a new initiative launching at the Hoover Institution.

This will be a 6-month engagement, and a remote work opportunity, ideally for someone based in the Bay Area and/or on the west coast.

Reflecting on 40 years of education reform and school improvement initiatives since the release ofA Nation at Risk,Hoover K-12 Educationis embarking onnew research and data collection efforts.We are aiming to summarize forty years of efforts to improve our schools, define the imminent challenges facing K-12 education systems, and advance workable models for solving our nation’s education crisis.

Theprojectmanagerwill work with our Hoover K-12 team to create and manageprojectplans for the various workstreams associated with data collection, research initiatives, production and release of academic papers and research reports, and in-person and remote group meetings.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):

• Bachelor’s degree and two years of relevant experience or combination of education, training, and relevant experience.

• Advanced degree may be required for some programs. Program administration and or research experience may be required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):

• Demonstrated oral, written, and analytical skills, exhibiting fluency in area of specialization.

• Familiarity with K-12 Education

• Ability to oversee and provide basic direction to staff.

CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES:

• PMP Certified

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:

• Frequently stand/walk, sitting, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, perform desk-based computer tasks.

• Occasionally use a telephone, writing by hand, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 40 pounds.

• Rarely sort/file paperwork or parts, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh >40 pounds.

• Ability to use voice to present information/communicate with others.

• On-campus mobility.

Requirements: PMP Certified is a must

2 Years of experience

Familiarity with K-12 education
