Position Summary

Position Summary

This position will support and perform the delivery of robust and GMP lab services in support of the Client pipeline in a cross functional setting. This role will also maintain the lab’s combined timelines, budget, resources planning, and support the intake and governance processes for projects. From time to time, you might also support projects to build and maintain a compliant laboratory operating system and upgrade capabilities to integrate additional assay modalities and capabilities.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare regular progress reports and ad hoc reports to facilitate seamless communication and visibility of project status throughout the organization
  • Partner with Translational Sciences & Diagnostics, Program Management team to implement best practices for project managers of teams, e.g., resource capacity planning, project risk management, team performance, and timeline development.
  • Maintains budget for the lab and appropriate cross charging for function using those services.
  • Work with legal and the Manager of Translational Sciences & Diagnostic, Lab Planning and Execution team to develop contracts for research collaborators and service providers
  • Identify project risks and mitigations with the project team and work towards resolution of project issues
  • Collaborate with Translational Medicine IT business partners for Translational Sciences & Diagnostics
  • Prepare and track project budgets (expense and capital), manage project financials including accruals and payables
  • Establish a close working relationship with external partners, collaborators, and specialty contract research providers to monitor the execution of projects.
  • Develop and maintain timelines for activities, assure alignment with project timelines as applicable, update timeline on an ongoing basis to provide transparency to the organization
  • Coordinate resource planning across functions to assure that adequate resources are being applied to the projects in the book of work. This will include planning for future lab capacity based on anticipated demands or shifting of project workload between facilities.
  • Support the project team and deliverables, working effectively with cross-functional representatives including scientific, technical program management, clinical, quality regulatory, IT, legal, finance, facilities, and others as necessary.
  • Partake in Lab Planning activities including lab space footprints and instrumentation layouts.

Qualifications - External
Education and Experience:
  • Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 2+ years’) or equivalent combination of education, training, & experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, healthcare related field or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Works with a moderate level of independence to lead projects and teams
  • Flexibility to meet with colleagues in Eastern time zones.
  • Project management focused, outcomes oriented, and results driven
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills, cross-functional collaboration skills, and a cross-cultural awareness
  • Awareness of the project financial budgeting and expenditures process, and contracts development process
  • Good organizational, analytical, and planning skills
  • Knowledge of CLIA/CAP laboratory and/or ISO13485 Quality Management System requirements.
  • Basic proficiency with project management tools and information technology systems such as Microsoft Office, Project, Excel, Teams, Visio, etc
  • Works to manage conflicts and negotiations, and influence outcomes without direct authority
  • Awareness of diagnostic lab operations, drug development, diagnostic development, and/or translational development processes, and supportive project management processes
  • Ability to work with assay development teams to concurrently support requirements of ISO13485 and CLIA, where practical.
