Byus Steel is a structural and miscellaneous metal fabricator located in Batavia, IL. We specialize in ornamental stairs, railings and custom fit structural support installations. We work with many of the large general contractors in the Chicagoland area doing work in hospitals, high rises, data centers, sports venues and anywhere our expertise in custom steel is required. Byus Steel was founded in 1987 and continues to provide high quality product and our focus on detail helps us to succeed and set us apart to this day.

The Project Manager will be required to perform material take offs and submit lump sum bids for potential projects, manage awarded projects from beginning to end, field verify measurements, attend job site meetings as required, submit monthly billing to general contractors and maintain a professional relationship with all clients.

Responsibilities:

• Submit requests for payment monthly.
• Coordinate shop fabrication drawings with both shop and field crew.
• Build strong relationships with all contractors and subcontractors involved in projects to create future project opportunities.
• Read bid drawings, create material take off lists, and provide quotes for potential projects.
• Manage all paperwork and coordination for assigned projects.
• Prepare and follow up on RFI’s.
• Attend site coordination meetings as required.
• Prepare and follow up on change orders.
• Field verify all shop drawing dimensions prior to fabrication.
• Ensure profitable and on time completion of all projects.

Requirements

• Capable of time management and overseeing several projects simultaneously.
• Minimum of 3 years of project management experience preferred.
• Bachelors Degree preferred, but strong work experience will be considered.
• Conflict resolution and communication skills are a must.
• Construction/project management experience recommended.
