Overview:


The CDC Foundation is seeking a Project Manager who will work under general direction of senior level management. The Project Manager is responsible for the management of one or more projects with varying complexities.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in public health or other related field
  • Strong technical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint), Smartsheet, SharePoint, and WebEx
  • At least 5-7 years’ experience in project management
  • Excellent judgment and decision making, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail, and business acumen to accomplish project goals and strategic objectives
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple timelines, thrive in a complex environment, and successfully address competing priorities
  • Extensive knowledge and expertise in the use of project management methodologies and tools, as well as resource management practices
  • Skills and demonstrated experience in project management, cultural awareness, health equity, creative problem solving, and innovation


Responsibilities:


  • Coordinates communication with all areas of the enterprise that impacts the scope, budget, risk and resources of the work effort being managed
  • Responsible for assembling project plans and teamwork assignments, directing and monitoring work efforts on a daily basis, identifying resource needs, performing quality review; and escalating functional, quality, timeline issues appropriately
  • Establishes and implements project management processes and methodologies to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high quality standards and meet stakeholder expectations
  • Interview staff to determine areas of improvement for the Division, particularly relating to onboarding and offboarding
  • Responsible for tracking key project milestones and adjusting project plans and/or resources to meet the needs of stakeholders
  • Maintain collegial, productive relationships with colleagues and partners
  • Create a complete onboarding program for the Division of Infectious Diseases (DID)
  • Assess and provide recommendations for improving communication and employee satisfaction within DID
  • Clearly communicate policies and procedures to non-technical audiences
  • Assists Program Manager(s) in partnering with senior management of the business community to identify and prioritize opportunities for utilizing IT to achieve the goals of the enterprise
  • Create and implement training for infectious diseases policies and procedures
  • Responsible for overall coordination, status reporting and stability of project-oriented work efforts
  • Assist with special projects for DID
  • Manages one or more cross-functional projects of varying complexity
  • Complete a DID Handbook including standard operating procedures
  • Assist Division Chief with reviewing written documents

This role is involved in a dynamic public health program. As such, roles and responsibilities are subject to change as situations evolve. Roles and responsibilities listed above may be expanded upon or updated to match priorities and needs, once written approval is received by both the CDC Foundation and Illinois Department of Health Services in order to best support the State of Illinois in their public health programming.


This position is currently a remote position. CDC Foundation retains the right to make adjustments to this as required.
