Description

Purpose

As a Project Manager, you will work with external clients to create project plans, manage project deliverables, manage client expectations, create and manage project documentation, and report project status. Key focus will be on providing a high-quality implementation and being accountable for the successful management of all aspects of client engagements. The Project Manager also works with development, product management, application engineers, and sales to plan, control, and direct service delivery projects. The Project Manager regularly exercises discretion and judgment related to matters of significance while performing the duties and responsibilities of the job.

Essential Functions

  • Collaborates with internal teams to ensure quality deliverables are met and client handoffs are seamless
  • Perform reviews of project work schedules, quarterly forecasts, and project teams to ensure that internal and external needs are being met
  • Responsible for the planning, organization, and management of assigned projects with full accountability for meeting all project deadlines
  • All other duties and responsibilities as assigned
  • Analyzes internal processes and fosters and environment of continual process improvement
  • Effectively utilizes communication to influence positive project outcomes
  • Demonstrates a clear understanding of effective communication to project teams, external project stakeholders, and internal and external leadership
  • Proactively sets and manages expectations with internal and external stakeholders regarding project scope, deliverables, timelines, status reporting, ad issues and risks
  • Utilizes knowledge of PMI and Sunquest established project management processes and methodology to drive projects to be on time, on budget, and with a high degree of customer satisfaction

Skills needed to be successful

  • Demonstrated ability to work concurrently on multiple projects in a matrix setting
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Windows, MS Office and standard office equipment
  • Solid knowledge of medical laboratory workflows, project management methods, practices, tools and techniques
  • Demonstrated ability to influence positive outcomes with internal and external constituents as part of driving progress on implementation engagements
  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to prioritize one’s own workload, work independently and autonomously, work with a project team (2-6 players), in a team environment that requires quick turnaround and quality output
  • Excellent analytical skills, with an ability to understand and solve problems, identify improvement opportunities, and create effective action plans during the performance of assigned tasks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and present to all levels of leadership

Required Experience & Education

  • 3 years of experience in project management, managing software implementations, and experience with direct client engagements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related discipline or equivalent experience
  • 3 years’ experience partnering with key client project stakeholders at the director level or above

Preferred Experience & Education

  • Previous experience in hospital laboratories
  • Experience with medical devices or healthcare information systems

Physical Requirements

  • Moderate lifting/carrying 15-44 lbs.; use of fingers; walking/standing 2-6 hours
  • Work is performed in a normal office setting with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Up to 25% travel may be required.
  • May be required to follow customer location health and safety requirements
  • Travel to client sites that can pose risks associated with healthcare organization.

The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position who is generally within the range of $84,400 to $118,200 for annual base salary. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay may be above or below this range
