About The Position


This position effectively supports the implementation of a new Electronic Health Records (EHR) software system at Correctional Health Services (CHS). This position will oversee the business and administration aspects of the EHR's implementation. The Project Manager will be responsible for leading and coordinating all aspects of the project related to the business processes, administrative workflows, change management, training, and overall stakeholder engagement leading to a successful implementation

We Require


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field
  • An equivalent combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience managing complex projects

  • Experience with agile methodology and have run an agile software programs or projects
  • Knowledge of EHR systems, industry standards, and best practices related to business and administration functions
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders
  • Experience in deploying Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) applications and systems
  • General project management experience with large complex projects
  • Strong understanding of healthcare business processes, administrative workflows, and regulatory requirements
  • Seven years of experience managing in project management, with a focus on healthcare technology or EHR implementations,.and 10 years of industry experience
  • PMP certification or similar project management certifications are preferred.
  • Experience with Organizational Change Management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address business-related issues and challenges
  • Master’s Degree of Business Administration or Healthcare Administration


Job Contributions


  • Develops and manages training to include train the trainer, end-user training, as well as ensuring support staff are adequately trained to navigate the system for reporting and analytics
  • Coordinates change management activities, including communication, training, and stakeholder engagement, to ensure successful adoption and transition to the new EHR system
  • Monitors project progress and provide regular updates and reports to senior management and other stakeholders
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders, including department leaders, administrators, finance personnel, and other business units, to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization through the implementation of the new EHR system
  • Builds and maintains effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders including vendors. Serves on various committees, teams, and work groups
  • Collaborates with the technical project manager to ensure alignment between technical and business aspects of the implementation
  • Manages project scope, schedule, budget, and risks specifically related to the business and administration functions
  • Facilitates meetings and workshops to communicate project updates, and resolve business-related issues
  • Validates that all vendors fulfill the terms of contract and deliverables. Maintains historical project records
  • Ensures compliance with change control and quality management policies. Notifies management of policy changes or exceptions in a timely manner
  • Works closely with the technical team and vendors to translate business requirements into system configuration, customization, and integration; works closely with clinical and administrative stakeholders to ensure accurate process documentation and implementation
  • Provides leadership, guidance, and support to project team members, stakeholders, and executive sponsors to ensure project success
  • Coordinates testing and quality assurance activities, ensuring that business processes are adequately tested and validated prior to system go-live


Working Conditions


  • At times, may be required to work inside a jail. Must be able to pass a fingerprint background check.
  • Work is performed in a department office.
  • Requires frequent computer work, participation in calls or meetings, the ability to be thorough in completing work tasks, and attention to detail.
  • Requires occasional travel to and from job-related locations during a scheduled workday, subject to County policies regarding the use of County or private vehicles used on County business.
  • Communication skills both verbal and written are a must. Project manager must be able to communicate with executive-level leaders and other managers as required. Prepares and communicates with executive steering committee.
