Job Description
Position: Project Manager, Food Contact Regulatory Location : Remote Who We Are and What We Do? Intertek Assuris provides consultation and research services to global, brand-name companies involved in the design, manufacturing, and distribution of consumer products. Through research, testing, inspection, and certification, Intertek Assuris helps clients to ensure the products they are distributing are safe, both in reality and in perception, for consumers around the world. Our Premiums Assurance team uses innovative, scientific methods to help clients eliminate product characteristics that may lead to complaints, recalls, injuries, or fatalities. What Are We Looking For? The Project Manager, Food Contact Regulatory is responsible for managing and implementing project work related to global food contact compliance and the use of recycled material in food contact applications. This responsibility includes the review of food contact products for compliance with existing/applicable regulations and support of food contact dossier submissions to global regulatory authorities.
Job Responsibilities: Manage and coordinate projects with Intertek Laboratories, including review of deliverables and analytical reports. Client coordination to support project deliverables.
Responsible for conducting food contact compliance reviews of complex food packaging products.
Responsible for supporting notification managers with submissions to global regulatory authorities such as US FDA.
Responsible for delivering projects within an agreed-upon timeline with the Client. Attending conference calls with the Client and supporting relationships with the Client to meet deliverable expectations.
Working with the analytical teams to obtain appropriate testing data that will be used in support of the regulatory compliance reviews and notification submissions.
Ongoing communication with Intertek Analytical Groups to ensure testing is completed accurately and on time.
Responsible for keeping up to date on the dynamic food contact regulations.
Qualifications:
BS/MS Degree in a scientific discipline or equivalent; chemistry background preferred.
Minimum 2 years of experience in packaging and global food contact regulations preferred but not required.
Experience in managing or supporting notifications for food contact and recycling projects; preferred but not required.
Understanding of global food contact regulations, Food Contact Notifications, and FDA No Objection Letter Submission Processes; preferred but not required.
Experience within the Packaging Industry or relevant trade organizations.
Experience in understanding analytical chemistry to guide the laboratories on testing required to support food contact clearance projects.
Extremely beneficial: Experience in communicating with laboratories and FDA.
Requirements:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to listen effectively. Ability to author high-quality accurate project reports and proposals.
Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to deliver high-level presentations to prospective and existing clients.
Ability to promote an effective working relationship at all levels and create a positive work environment, including the ability to collaborate with others in a team-based project environment.
Ability to know when, to whom, and how to influence projects and personnel to facilitate business growth.
Must be able to manage effectively in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
Ability to prioritize work and deliver results.
