What role you will play in our team


Project Manager - Execution


As part of the ExxonMobil Pipeline Company (EMPCo), the Project Manager will have the primary responbiility of managing EMPCo Projects after Lead Case Selection is completed focused on Detailed Engineering, Procurement, Execution System Completion and Turnover and Start Up. Projects will consist primarily of $1-25M Midstream (Pipeline and Terminal) projects. The Project Manager would typically oversee a group of Project Engeers with 5-10 concurrent projects in various stages (Stage 3 - Stage 4) utilizing the ExxonMobil Capital Project Management System (EMCAPS). The Project Manager will be located in Houston, TX and report to the EMPCo Project Engineering Manager within the EMPCo Engineering Department. Typical experience range for this position is 10-20 years


What You Will Do


  • Overall responsibility to deliver assigned projects meeting quality, cost, and schedule goals
  • Participates in bid package development, bid evaluation, and contractor selection.
  • Leads cost and schedule controls and reporting for projects
  • Engages functional resources to verify that the design & construction is consistent with project specifications & standards including soliciting the support from corporate experts when required
  • Mentors and Trains Project Engineers in project management processes.
  • Laisse with other functions to ensure stakeholder alignment
  • Position involves between 10% - 30% of time outside of the office developing project scopes and observing field operating locations. A portion of the field work may involve travel and overnight stays
  • Participates in identification & sourcing long lead equipment, assuring Engineering & Procurement (E&P) contractor support until equipment is delivered to the Construction contractor
  • Engagement with Commercial, Business Development, SSHE, and Operations
  • Leads in development of project deliverables including, but not limited to, Project Objectives and Summary Development, cost and schedule estimates, gate packages, project safety plans, project staffing, design reviews, constructability reviews, and quality plans.
  • Coordinate resolution of project issues and capture project opportunities to drive overall performance


About You


  • Strong customer focus with drive to provide quality product
  • High capability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, frequent changes in priorities, and changes in the business environment
  • Courage of conviction to demonstrate considerable influence across Organization
  • BS or MS in Mechanical, Civil, Construction, Industrial, Electrical, and/or Chemical Engineering
  • Leadership and ability to drive cross-functional teams
  • 3-10 years previous experience in Project Engineering and/or Project Management Management
  • Strong communication skills to facilitate alignment and open, effective communication among stakeholders

  • Industry Project Management course work
  • Project Management Professional
