Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a Project Management Specialist to join the Apache Production & Fielding Program Management Office in Mesa, AZ.


This role will work directly on the Apache Program by leading the completion of Multi-Year I production and beginning of Multi-Year II production. The focus of this role will to be ensure Apache helicopters are produced and delivered in support of US Army customer fielding requirements. Using Program Management Best Practices (PMBPs) and Risks, Issues, and Opportunity (RIO) Management, this role will collaborate with internal functions and external customers to manage part shortages impacting Apache Final Assembly and Flight Test, support the development of workaround plans to maintain production stability, coordinate Downward Equitable Adjustments and Borrow/Paybacks of material to support production, and work closely with quality and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and escapements impacting Apache production and fielded aircraft.


This role will directly work with our local Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) and US Army customer to communicate status and deliver Apache helicopters to both CONUS and OCONUS Army bases.


Position Responsibilities:


  • Authorizes commitment of resources by obtaining approvals from stakeholders
  • Develops and executes the process and strategy for the integration of plans and schedules
  • Recognized as primary project contact to establish key stakeholder requirements and project objectives
  • Oversees, develops, coordinates, integrates, analyzes, and maintains integrated plans and schedules for highly complex or difficult projects, programs and change driven activities to execute in accordance with project management industry standards
  • Oversees deployment of approved recommendations at Division, Business Unit, and/or Enterprise levels
  • Identifies risk and opportunity potential, develops mitigation planning and refines the business case
  • Directs and provides high level studies/analysis (trend, variance, impact), determines scope, reports, and oversight of planning requests
  • Consults and recommends integrated planning, scheduling, change and baseline management, processes, techniques and tools to management considered to be best practices across the industry


This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

  • 120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher
  • 10+ years of experience in production processes and flow
  • 5+ years of experience in managing project schedules and managing programs and projects
  • 10+ years of experience analyzing data, creating reports, and presenting results
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Experience supporting defense acquisition and proposal development
  • Experience leading, managing, or implementing Lean+ initiatives to improve organizational efficiency
  • Experience building positive relationships and effectively engaging customers
  • Master’s Degree or higher
  • Experience in communicating with senior leadership and executives on complex topics

Summary pay range: $132,600 - $179,400
