Job Description
Overview:
Project Engineer, OHLA USA Inc., Miami, FL
Responsibilities:
  • Provide supervision to Field Engineers and technical direction to crafts, and/or Superintendents assigned to the area of work to ensure work is completed in proper sequence.
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of the contract specifications, documents, and the scope of work, including subcontracts and purchase orders.
  • Provide subcontract coordination. Assist in preparation and maintenance of project schedules, quantity tracking, and daily cost reports.
  • Track contractual charges and report changes to Project Management.
  • Verify that all completed work complies with applicable codes drawing and specifications.
  • Perform required design of temporary project work (e.g., formwork, scaffolding, lifting beams, support of excavation, barge loading diagrams, critical lift plans).
  • Assist in development of project status reports and profit projections. Research and resolve drawing interpretations, problems, and errors.
  • Review/redline drawings for contractual changes and as built.

Qualifications:
  • Requires Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Industrial, Mechanical or Construction Engineering or related, and 3 years cost control experience in construction industry.
  • Required experience must include 3 years cost controlling and reporting for large scale infrastructure or construction projects (e.g., roadways, tunnels, bridge construction), and 1 year reading and interpreting drawings.
  • The experience may be gained concurrently.
