SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION
As a Project Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in executing engineering projects from inception through to completion. Your duties will span a range of activities, including product design and development, crafting and monitoring project budgets and schedules, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team of mechanical designers and engineers to manage project implementation, and communicating effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
Furthermore, you may be tasked with initiatives aimed at enhancing product quality, bolstering process efficiency, and achieving cost savings. As your involvement in customer-focused projects increases, you will have opportunities to demonstrate leadership by guiding a team of design engineers on projects of diverse complexity.

Essential Duties And Core Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with the production shop to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to part fabrication, oven assembly, and system testing. Demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills in handling post-production issues.
- Prepare comprehensive drawing packages for the manufacturing team, conducting regular audits to ensure their accuracy, usefulness, and the end product's quality and functionality.
- Participate in product development projects, introducing innovative design and manufacturing techniques. Execute projects on schedule and within budget parameters, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Maintain and archive the standard model database, ensuring it is up-to-date and accurate, and manage post-production issues effectively.
- Develop comprehensive manufacturing shop drawings and instructions, including details on part formation, welding procedures, and assembly guidelines. Coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
- Create and maintain detailed product development timelines. Consistently track progress, coordinate milestones, deliverables, and provide updates to the leadership team.
- Coordinate with both internal and external groups to achieve the cost, schedule, and technical goals of the program, while effectively managing risks and motivating the team.
- Generate accurate Bill of Materials (BOM) and work closely with procurement to source required purchased parts, ensuring timely procurement and avoiding production delays.
- Continually review and propose improvements to existing processes, balancing the need for swift execution with the requirement for rigorous engineering standards. Conduct regular design reviews and provide feedback for continuous improvement of the design and manufacturing processes.
- Implement design modifications and best engineering practices into all projects. Update standard designs, balancing quality improvements with considerations for material cost and labor reductions.
- Generate unique design solutions to meet specific customer applications. Develop component and system specifications tailored to specific customer orders, and complete designs of standard and custom oven models based on technical specifications.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
- Technical Skills: Proficient in SolidWorks.
- Knowledge: A solid understanding of heat transfer, airflow, and heat-treating processes is desirable.
- Education: Must hold a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- Additional Skills: Demonstrating proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and airflow analysis provides a significant edge.
- Specialization: Experience in sheet metal and machine design is strongly preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in design and project management.
