Salary: $120k plus annual bonus


Overview:

The Project Engineer will effectively manage engineering and technical projects. You will schedule, plan, forecast, resource, and manage all the technical activities aiming at assuring project accuracy and quality from conception to completion. The Plant Managers will be responsible for providing direction and overseeing project elements.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • You will oversee projects supporting the 3 current manufacturing sites. This includes managing all aspects of the project that may contain analog, digital, and various controls.
  • Collaborates with the operations department to identify and troubleshoot problems.
  • Ensures all project documentation is completed.
  • Analyzes equipment, systems, processes, and systems to identify modifications to improve efficiency, increase quality, and reduce costs.
  • Recommends and/or analyzes materials, equipment, and practices used in the project.
  • Collaborates with engineers from other plants to share problems and solutions.
  • Prepares periodic progress and cost reports for leadership.
  • Determines project schedules by studying project plan and specifications and calculating time requirements.
  • Complies with all federal and state regulations.
  • Manages, facilitates, and contributes to the development of project plans and designs.
  • Assesses the competence, capabilities, resources, and financial status of vendors.
  • Compares the actual cost of development project to estimates.
  • Coordinates all activities of assigned projects from inception to completion.
  • Ensures compliance with codes, guidelines, best practices, and policies as related to safety, building codes, engineering directives, environmental, etc.
  • Awareness of ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 standards.
  • Analyses and manages risks on projects.
  • Supervises progress of development project.
  • Collaborates with project staff to create a strategic action plan and cost estimates of materials, time, labor, and other resources required to complete the project.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related engineering discipline required (Chemical Engineering and or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent).
  • Manufacturing Plant experience required.
  • 8 years of experience in project management, engineering, systems design, or other related field, with at least 3 years of management experience leading multidisciplinary design teams.
  • 25% business travel expected.

Required Skills / Abilities:

  • Project Engineering experience with multi million dollars CAPEX projects.
  • Excellent budgeting and cost containment skills.
  • PMP certified preferred.
  • Basic understanding of ISO 9000 design requirements.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Strong Vendor/Contractor management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with CAD, CAD/CAM – Must be able to read and understand CAD drawings, electric wiring diagrams, P&ID, and mass-balance calculations.
  • Knowledge and experience with project charters, fast-tracking and earned value.
