Project Director – Military Events and Ceremonies
The Project Director – Military Events and Ceremonies will support a federal contract that provides event and ceremony planning and execution for a US military client. The position is generally virtual; however, when appropriate and necessary, travel for onsite client meetings in the Washington, DC area and travel to the event may be required.
Duties And Responsibilities
  • Strong verbal, writing, contract negotiation, and supervisory skills.
  • Attend and staff meetings, including taking notes/minutes and providing general support.
  • Assist with developing and drafting an event agenda with notable speakers and exhibitors selected by the client.
  • Manage the planning, facilitation and execution of pre-, onsite, and post-event tasks.
  • Monitor and respond to inquiries.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Monitor budget.
  • Professionally communicate with event and meeting participants regarding schedule, plans, and requirements.
  • Participate in site and location selection as needed.
  • Create original documents, revise existing documents, and provide quality control.
  • Assist in marketing and promoting events.
Required Qualifications
  • Team player with mission-first mindset
  • Knowledge of the FAR, ADA compliance, and federal travel regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Military veteran or extensive experience supporting military branches
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines
  • Strong experience in planning and producing events and meetings
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Must have a minimum of 10 years of federal government or federal contract project management experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with military protocol
  • Acquisition experience
  • Experience planning and executing military events
