We are flexible and offer a hybrid arrangement working from home and on-site at our office at 25N Coworking in Geneva, IL.

As a Project Designer, you will work collaboratively with our senior designers and managing director to take projects all the way from conceptualization to completion. Daily tasks will include visualizing and sketching design plans per client goals, specifying products and materials, managing budgets, and inspecting construction to ensure alignment with design specifications. This is a role where you can flex your artistic ability, your eye for detail and problem-solving acumen in a supportive environment where your presence makes a difference!

What you will do:

• Specify materials and furnishings, such as lighting, furniture, wall finishes, flooring, and plumbing fixtures.
• Develop architectural and FF+E specifications and incorporate them into project documents.
• Oversee installation and construction of design elements.
• Coordinate with other members of the design team for procurement.
• Assemble organized documentation of chosen materials and finishes.
• Draft Test Fit/Space Plans, and complete Schematic Design and Design Development drawing packages.
• Review and approve project submittals.
• Creatively consider how the space will be used and how people will move through the space.
• Support Senior Designers with ongoing communication with clients, trades, and contractors to ensure project success.
• Conceptualize the client’s goals and requirements.
• Coordinate RFIs with local architects/contractors, and provide sketches to support projects.

Requirements:

• High level of initiative and creative problem-solving with a positive, team-oriented attitude.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Bachelors’ Degree with a focus on interior design or interior architecture preferred.
• 3-5 years of professional experience in interior design or a closely related field. Specialized experience in hospitality, workplace, or commercial design required.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator (SketchUp and InDesign a plus!)
• Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Suite.
