Job Description

The Department of Global Pediatric Medicine (GPM) is a growing department looking for dynamic professionals who are eager to implement the St. Jude Global (SJG) mission of training the clinical workforce, developing and strengthening health systems and patient-centered initiatives, and advancing knowledge to sustain continuous improvement through research.

 

The Adapted Resource and Implementation Application (ARIA) Program is a growing global pediatric oncology treatment guideline initiative.

 

The ARIA Program needs an experienced Program Coordinator to assist in the design, writing, editing, process coordination, implementation, and oversight of projects. Responsibilities also include for researching, documenting, and disseminating information. Under the supervision of the ARIA Program Manager and as assigned, serves as a section and/or project team lead. Acts as a liaison with other members of ARIA, GPM and SJG and its global collaborators, to ensure coordination and success of departmental, regional, and/or global initiatives and departmental requirements.

 

The ARIA Program is supported by the Department of Global Pediatric Medicine (GPM) and St. Jude Global (SJG).  

 The Program Coordinator assists in the design, implementation, and oversight of projects and initiatives within and for the Department of Global Pediatric Medicine (GPM) and St. Jude Global (SJG). Responsible for researching, documenting, and disseminating information as needed. Under the supervision of the GPM director or manager and as assigned, serves as a section and/or project team lead. Acts as a liaison with other members of GPM and SJG and its collaborators, to ensure coordination and success of departmental, regional, and/or global initiatives and departmental requirements.

 

Responsibilities

  • Facilitating strategic communications in live meetings, presentations, and email/written materials
  • Utilizing project management tools to effectively coordinate priority work activities, track timelines, tasks, and deliverables, and provide regular progress reporting
  • Building and maintaining strong working relationships with faculty and senior leaders from many types of organizations to attain project goals and facilitate productive collaboration
  • Managing multiple project-based initiatives including collaborative efforts with external stakeholders      
  • Assisting with grant and protocol writing, literature searching and synthesis, and IRB preparation
  • Developing project and grant budgets
  • Organizing and assisting with in-person and online meetings and workshops, both in-person and virtual, including logistics support and materials creation
  • Serving as a liaison with other members of GPM/SJG and its collaborators to ensure alignment of initiatives with institutional and departmental strategic plans and regulations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite of programs is required. Other platforms such as Power BI and Qualtrics a plus.
  • Researching, documenting, and disseminating information, including preparing and delivering presentations

Skills and Abilities

 

  • Flexibility to travel (estimated <10%) for on-site facilitation, as needed and as feasible
  • Familiarity with quality improvement and implementation science methodologies a plus
  • Ability to plan and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience with project management tools preferred
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills, with the ability to analyze and synthesize information
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office product suite with the ability to create reports and presentations
  • Cultural sensitivity is a must
  • Flexibility in schedule to accommodate meetings across different time zones
  • Oncology writing and editing a plus.
  • Strong communication practices
  • Effective organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks

  • Supervisory and/or team coordinator experience preferred
  • Experience in an international setting and with project management methodologies preferred
  • Fluency in a second language preferred
  • Clinical background is preferred, research experience is a plus
  • Three (3) years of experience and expertise in complex project management
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Outlook Calendar tools, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required
