Program Manager - Students And Events

Opportunity

The Program Manager, Students & Events position represents the opportunity to work closely with a world-class team of designers, founders, and Stanford students. Coordinate key on-campus events, drive our programming for student founders, and represent StartX externally to founder and staff applicants, potential partners, StartX community members and Stanford leaders. Build a warm, supportive community of 10-15 student founders, ensuring learning goals are met through high quality programming and mentorship. After two years excelling in this role, StartX is committed to helping you transition to another role - internally at StartX or at one of our community's start-ups. The main objectives for this role include:

• Planning social and networking events for our entire community of founders
• Contributing to a team culture centered around transparency, accountability, and personal growth, and one that relies on high-quality processes to achieve results
• Creating a professional and seamless experience for partners and founders who lead workshops
• Coordinating programs for and building relationships with our Stanford student founders
• Creating a positive and memorable experience for all participants at StartX events, such that they want to continue engaging with and contributing to the community
• Driving logistics for our largest on-campus event of the year - Campus Demo Day
• Serving as the face of StartX as Concierge at key community and public events

A Day in the Life:

• Welcome the new student founders to the afternoon event and make sure the event runs smoothly, follow-up on any questions or concerns
• Spend 20 minutes reviewing tricky customer emails and providing updated templates for an outsourced Upworker to use in the future
• Finalize details for an afternoon event for new student founders, focusing on how to make students feel comfortable sharing their challenges
• Tour a potential location for Campus Demo Day, our largest event on Stanford’s campus
• Meet with Marketing to plan logistics for Stanford Fellow onboarding

• Weekly: Response time to student emails

• Monthly: Student Teams meet 2+ Learning Goals

• Quarterly: Student Founder Satisfaction Feedback

Compensation

Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience. The expected base salary for this role is $78,000 to $83,000.
