Program Manager – Fitness & Nutrition

The WellSpring School of Allied Health is a Kansas City-based post-secondary school. WellSpring, a fixture in the Kansas City area for more than 31 years, is exclusively focused on preparing graduates for successful careers in health and wellness-oriented professions.
We are looking for a driven, energetic, highly skilled person to join, lead and grow our Fitness and Nutrition team. The Program Manager is a leadership role and is tasked with ensuring the program’s success, both from an academic and business perspective. The position also serves as a lead instructor. The program is delivered in a classroom and online setting and prepares students for a career in the health and wellness field of Personal Training and Nutrition. This is a full-time position.
Job Duties
- Observe and provide feedback to all program instructors on a regular basis and provide a comprehensive performance review annually.
- Mentor new and seasoned instructors to ensure they are effective at delivering the program.
- Monitor how the program is being delivered/received, and work with the Faculty Administrator to make adjustments to contracting as necessary.
- Counsel students as necessary once the student’s instructor is unable to resolve the issue.
- Direct the Advisory Board and Curriculum Review Committee meetings.
- Assist in managing and evolving the curriculum as necessary to keep pace with the needs of the profession and industry.
Job Skills/Requirements
- Demonstrate strength in instructional methodology, delivery, and techniques.
- Graduation from an accredited program recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) in the field of Personal Training and/or Nutrition, OR Graduation from an otherwise recognized training entity in the Fitness and Nutrition field.
- Must have three (3) years teaching or occupational (i.e., practical) experience in field of Fitness and Nutrition.
- A baccalaureate degree from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
- Hold a current license, certification or other credential in the field of Fitness and Nutrition. *NASM preferred.
- Display professionalism at all times and present in a way that is in the best interest of the school and the profession.
The ideal candidate will be highly personable, outgoing and must exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills. The candidate must have excellent interpersonal abilities and have a track record of achieving results by working through other people.
