POSITION SUMMARY
The Program Manager oversees the overall programmatic, clinical, and administrative functions and oversight of daily activities, including care for children, supervision of staff and the program budget. The Program Manager provides leadership, motivation and support to staff, manages the referral, admission and discharge process for the program, and ensures the integrity of the program model. This position may provide services within one or more than one Wheeler program and the relative concentration between and within programs may change with the needs of the clinic.
Sign-on Bous $5,000! $2,500 paid at start and $2,500 paid at one year of service!
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s or Doctoral degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy or related field plus two years of related clinical experience. Must have experience working with high needs children and families of diverse cultural and economic backgrounds. Exceptional communication, interpersonal and organizational skills are also required.

Credential(s) Required: CT license - LCSW, LMFT or LPC

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Works collaboratively with the Program Supervisor to maintain a healthy physical environment, positive strengths-based atmosphere within the milieu, and safety and well-being of youth and staff.
Serves as role model for staff to promote strong work ethic and the use of evidence-based trauma-informed relational approaches/models of intervention with youth and families, as well as other staff members.
Creates and implements program development initiatives and oversees programming needs of youth.
Ensures that staff provides culturally competent care and maintains sensitivity to and respect for clients' cultural traditions, values, and beliefs.
Leads and Co-leads meetings as needed.
Provides regularly scheduled supervision as assigned and case consultation to all staff on an ongoing basis.
Maintains required certifications, attends and provides required trainings as necessary.
Assists with arranging and monitoring the staff training schedule to ensure that training needs are being met.
Provides coverage for Program Supervisor and Clinician(s) responsibilities, including on-call, in their absence and/or as assigned.
Provides 24 hour on-call coverage on a rotating basis and may be required to report on-site on an as-needed basis.
Carries a clinical caseload when needed or appropriate, submits all required documentation and reports in a timely manner, and participates in and promotes quality improvement and outcome measurement activities.
Reports child abuse/neglect as mandated, adheres to confidentiality guidelines and ensures that the program meets all necessary licensing, regulatory, and accreditation standards, as related to the program, staff, records, facility, and care of youth.
Monitors staff time and signs off on time off requests for supervisees.
Oversees the orientation of new staff.
Oversees the creation and maintenance of staff schedule and managing overtime in accordance with departmental practices.
Continues to develop knowledge and understanding about the history, traditions, values, family systems, and artistic expression of groups served as well as uses appropriate methodological approaches, skills, and techniques that reflect an understanding of culture.
