Plans, develops, and coordinates activities associated with the Eversource PSMS and quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) program, including the testing, standards development and monitoring of inspection activities associated with Eversource construction and maintenance inspection activities and records management practices. This position will be interacting and engaging with multiple levels of personnel from field supervision to leadership team members. Works frequently with corporate and service organizations in the interest of the department.

Essential Functions:

  • Provides leadership in the Electric Field Operations towards top tier performance in Quality and Safety performance through review and observations of current work practices and procedures. There will be continuous improvement to meet the objective of excellence in quality of the construction of the Overhead and Underground distribution systems and Safety of our workforce in MA.
  • Provides analysis on trends in deviations from standard work practices and develops action plans to address in collaboration with EFO managers
  • Develops metrics to measure the improvement in quality and adherence to standard work procedures
  • Develops a team of SMEs in T&D construction and design to conduct observations
  • Performs post-work observations of Overhead and Underground work to quality check the conditions of the work area
  • Works in collaboration with Engineering standards group on changes to work procedures and standards to be compliant with industry best practice
  • Submits reports on Inspections required for DPU reporting
  • Reports out on findings and notable actions of QA/QC program to Operations executives at Monthly Workplan meetings
  • Networks with other utilities and industry experts to evaluate current work procedures
  • Lead point of contact for Stray Voltage Program (Osmose)
  • Participates in storm duty assignments
  • Evaluates inspection programs for quality and effectiveness (Manhole, Switch, and Pole inspections)
  • Conducts observations of Overhead and Underground crews active work in various tasks for adherence to work and safety standards and procedures
  • Documents findings from observations with a focus on deviations from standard work practices and expectations

Qualifications:

  • Thorough understanding of distribution system operations and maintenance practices, issues and activities within the electric utility industry

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Management, related discipline or equivalent experience
  • MS in Engineering or MBA preferred

Experience:

  • Minimum of ten (10) years managing or supervising groups engaged in transmission/distribution or related activities

Working Conditions:

  • Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
  • Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
