Program Estimator Jobs

The Program Estimator produces several levels of construction project estimates, with a heavy concentration on conceptual estimating, to support facility project planning at Walt Disney World. You will participate in project development, database comparison with actual costs, and review of contractor schedule of values. You will guide the Change Management effort with the project team, including analysis of contractor detailed costs and finalizing negotiations for settlement.

You will report to the Business Manager-Controls

Responsibilities:

• Partner with the Integrated Facility Planning (IFP) Representative and Program Manager to estimate future year program. Identify areas for decisions.
• Participate with the development of operating guidelines and metrics.
• Produce rough order of magnitude, conceptual, design development, and bid and construct estimates of probable cost for facility modifications, renovations, and new construction.
• Mentor other Estimators.
• Work with and influence executives.
• Stay current with market conditions, perform statistical analysis, and produce departmental reports as warranted.
• Support project teams with scope development, bid requirements, schedule of values, and contractual language.
• Lead negotiations with professional consultants and contractors to settle costs for changes in work.
• Evaluate contractor proposals for changes in project work following contract requirements and fair market values.
• Build relationships with important team members and clients.
• Manage estimating consultants.
• Participate in design reviews and provide budget estimates.

Basic Qualifications :

• Experience using construction estimating software.
• Knowledge of contracting processes, negotiating, and legalities.
• Knowledge of facility design and construction methods, construction activity sequencing, and schedule logic.
• Project planning experience.
• Experience in quantity surveying and cost estimating for general construction including some experience in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing.
• 6+ Years Experience in Engineering, Construction Management, or the commercial construction industry.
• Experience in Facility Management.

Preferred Qualifications :

• Knowledge of current building codes.

Required Education :

• Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year college or university.
