UPMC Health Plan is hiring a full-time Program Director to support the Medical Management SNP team. The team is based out of downtown Pittsburgh's US Steel Tower, however, this role will predominantly work from home with the expectation to travel to the office based on business needs. The preferred candidate will be a licensed RN or Social Worker.
In conjunction with the senior leadership, the Program Director is responsible for overseeing the coordination and administration of all aspects of assigned functional area and programs including but not limited to; planning, organizing, staffing, leading and controlling program activities. Under limited supervision, develops, manages and oversees policies, procedures and operations of the assigned functional areas, ensures compliance with all internal and external regulations and deadlines to ensure the accurate revenue capture.
Responsibilities:
- Work in tandem with other members of the health plan in order to advance mission of the health plan and the UPMC at large (medical management, quality, network, health promotion, pharmacy, etc.)
- Devise evaluation strategies to monitor performance and determine the need for improvements.
- Assess situations to determine the importance, urgency and risks, and make clear decisions which are timely and in the best interests of the organization.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with others, both internally and externally, to achieve the goals of the organization.
- Initiate and set goals and new initiatives according to the strategic objectives of the organization and department ensuring all deadlines and milestones are met.
- Read reports prepared by staff to determine progress and issues while keeping senior leadership informed with detailed and accurate reports or presentations.
- Develop new and unique methods to improve operations of the organization and to create new opportunities
- Enhance efficiency and productivity of procedures and people.
- Work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions enhancing organizational effectiveness.
- Apply change, risk and resource management principles when needed.
- Responsible for hiring, orientation and ongoing management of all assigned staff. Including but not limited to; conducting regular performance appraisals, providing constructive feedback, direction to improvement, provide positive leadership to all staff, encouraging a team approach, professional attitude modeling best practices.
- Excellent oral and written skills
- Minimum of 10 years work experience required with at least 3 in a managed care environment preferred
- Minimum of 3 years experience with data analysis
- Case management experience preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of project management
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Bachelors Degree required. Concentration in clinical field preferred. Masters Degree strongly preferred.
- RN or Social Work licensure strongly preferred.
- UPMC Medical Management SNP experience preferred
- Ability to use current technology.
- Excellent organization, communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability at evaluate data and develop and implement interventions based upon data
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
- Clinical licensure preferred
