Job Summary

The National Center for Injury Prevention and Control (NCIPC) recently celebrated 30 years of protection, prevention, and progress and there is much to be proud of. The Center has experienced tremendous growth and recent enhancements, including dedicated funding for the prevention and research surrounding Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs); Suicide Prevention, Firearm Injury and Mortality Prevention Research; the integration of the Drug-free Communities Support Program; and refinements to its organizational structure.

As the Center has grown, it has been challenged to fill a variety of administrative and technical positions. To deliver on its mandate and that of the agency, including enhancing public health communications as part of the Moving Forward initiative, meeting data modernization goals, and maintaining the operations and systems required to deliver public health impact.

PCI GS is looking for Health Professionals with the necessary skills to deliver this work.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Organizes, directs and manages all aspects of contract operational support functions.
  • Manages and maintains contractor interface with the senior levels of the customer's organization.
  • Establishes and maintains technical and financial reports to show progress of projects to management and customers, and oversees the successful completion of all assigned tasks.
  • Provides overall direction of program activities.
  • Consults with customer and contractor personnel to formulate and review task resourcing and plans, ensuring conformance with program and project task schedules and costs and contractual obligations.


Qualifications

  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification prefered
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Strong interpersonal skills and extremely resourceful
  • 12+ years of program management and related experience
  • Proven ability to solve problems creatively
  • Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline
  • Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described herein are representative of those which may need to be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Employees must possess the ability to work in an office environment.

If required, employees must be able to operate a motor vehicle which may require sitting for prolonged periods of time to visit other company sites. Must have hearing and speech to communicate in person, before groups and over the telephone. Standing in work areas and walking between work areas may be required. This position may require an employee to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb or balance, reach, push, and pull. The employee may also be required to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
