Job Description
The Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine is seeking applications for the role of Program Coordinator in the Office of Research Development (ORD). The Program Coordinator reports to the Associate Dean for Research (ADR).

Duties include:
  • Identifies funding opportunities and distributing to announcements to faculty.
  • Maintains a database of faculty research interests.
  • Tracks and reports research metrics.
  • Organizes and coordinates logistics for research meetings and events.
  • Manages ORD initiatives.
  • Oversees development and maintenance of the ORD website.
  • Coordinates with communications and PR staff to enhance research visibility.
  • Prepares and edits reports.
  • Creates and distributes announcements.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook (both email electronic mail and meeting scheduling functions), and PowerPoint.
  • Performs routine administrative activities (notetaking, coordinating meetings, scheduling, room/space bookings, catering, purchasing, reimbursements, travel, etc.). Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • High level of independence and initiative, meet deadlines, establish priorities, make decisions.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Strong writing and editing skills.
  • Ability to interact well with diverse groups of people.
  • Handles multiple tasks and works well under pressure.
  • Willingness to adjust quickly to change.
Required Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health or a related field
OR
  • High School Diploma (or Equivalent) with 6 years of directly related work experience
OR
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience


Preferred Qualifications • Experience in an academic setting
