Job Description
Job Responsibilities


The Agency's mission is to be boldly innovative in improving the health and quality of life for South Carolinians.


This is position is located in Estate Recovery & Casualty, Richland County.


Are you the One? We are looking for a Program Coordinator I who manages, researches and assimilates various data sources received by the Estate Recovery and Casualty Departments and performs accurate data entry.


  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Research Estate and Casualty Leads received into the workflow and route to the correct location. Research on-line tax assessor's sites, probate courts, judicial websites, online obit to determine if it’s a viable lead or a surviving spouse. Input data from leads into the case management system.
  • Review and research information received on all Estate Recovery leads. Create cases, attach and post documentation as necessary, follow and pursue cases until a case manager is assigned.
  • Serves as primary contact for Estate Recovery Casualty and Special Needs Trust departments. Provides internal and external customer service by responding to emails, answering the departments main telephone line, answering general questions and faxes.

Minimum And Additional Requirements


A high school diploma and professional experience involving research, data management and record keeping activities.


A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required program experience.


Additional Requirements


  • Lifting requirements: 20 lbs.
  • Sitting or standing for long periods of time.
  • Overtime and/or weekend work with Deputy approval.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
  • This job may offer telecommuting 1-2 days a week.
  • Proficiency in computer applications including but not limited to Outlook, Office and Excel.
  • Knowledge of the policies and procedures relating to Medicaid and the Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS).
