You will work with a high caliber and collaborative team within the Depleted Uranium Program, sharing your subject matter expertise with the federal program manager. As a programmatic liaison, you will also work closely with program managers at the national security laboratories and nuclear weapon production facilities who are engaged in managing technical work to modernize our nuclear weapon stockpile.

You’ll have a hybrid work arrangement with both onsite work at DOE Headquarters, located in the Forrestal Building in Washington, DC, and remote work from home. (You’ll be in the office 2 – 3 days per week.)

What You Will Do:

  • Identify, mitigate, and control program risks in collaboration with contracts, finance, project management, and contractors.
  • Create and implement plans and processes to meet program performance.
  • Support the modernization of technologies and capital acquisitions at NNSA sites.
  • Coordinate interfaces with Office of Stockpile Management and assist with identifying programming and planning requirements to support Stockpile Modernization.
  • Manage a diverse and complex portfolio.
  • Review technical plans and provide recommendations based on technical knowledge and expertise.
  • Present status updates on contract activities, requirements, and issues during program reviews and in response to requests from oversight agencies and Congress.

What You Will Need:

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • US citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with NNSA programs
  • Master’s or PhD in chemistry or chemical engineering.
  • Active DOE Q or DoD Top Secret security clearance preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.
  • 1 or more years of project management experience.

Equal Employment Opportunity:

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to sex, race, color, religion, gender, age, mental or physical disability, medical condition, genetic information, national origin, ancestry, marital status, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other legally protected status as required by law.
