Production Welder / $15.0-$20.0 per hour / Erie, PA

Must Haves

Ability to lift, push, pull up to 55 lbs on your own and up to 70 lbs with a team lift or equipment assistance

• Ability to work in high temperatures
• Ability to hear horns, buzzers, and an intercom page, and respond accordingly
• Ability to use electrical and manual tools
• Ability to communicate needs and concerns in a timely manner
• Ability to properly use welding equipment
• Ability to walk, bend, stoup, crouch, kneel, climb, stand for 10 hours
• Ability to read and understand process sheets
• Ability to read, understand, and interpret technical documents and drawings
• Ability to wear proper PPE- eye protection, welding helmets, gloves, and steel or safety toe shoes or boots
• Ability to use and understand MIE (MRP system)
• Ability to complete weld testing every 6 months or as defined by F3 Metalworx

Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure welding equipment is clean and in proper working condition prior to, during, and after use
• Identify and verify the following o Part names and numbers o Proper metals and equipment prior to use o Proper tooling and/or metals for specific welding types
• Read and interpret the following to determine operations require to meet customer demands o Diagrams o Sketches o Blueprints
• Work with other welders to ensure that the flow of product is efficient
• Keep all welding organized and labeled to ensure proper use and welds
• Operate grinders as needed to prepare finished parts
• Fabricate and assemble a variety of components and structures using TIG welding for the following metals o Stainless o Carbon o Aluminum
• Initiate process improvements
• Document use and wear of all tooling
• Have knowledge of how to use and set up tooling for specific weld types
• Complete process checks prior to and during operation to confirm the following o Tolerances o Proper machine function o Quality standards
• Use all provided safety tools related to specific welding use
• Report any broken tooling or equipment in a timely manner
• Maintain accuracy and motivation on repetitive jobs
• Produce welds in accordance to customer requirements and/or employer specifications
• Communicate clearly with the next shift regarding the following o Completed items o Urgent items o Material details o Equipment details o Items schedule next
• Maintain a clean working area during and after operation
