Job Description

We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Production Supervisor within our production team to help support our Flooring business. Our Flooring businesses manufacture and distribute foam-, rubber-, and fiber-based flooring underlayment for residential and commercial use. Our flooring underlayment products provide support, cushioning, and noise reduction under virtually any finished flooring material in your home or business. As a Production Supervisor, your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by ensuring that the quality of our products is of a high standard. So, what will you be doing as a(n) Production Supervisor?

  • Analyzing performance data: You will be responsible for analyzing performance data in order to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to enhance production efficiency.
  • Monitoring quality and quantity standards: You will be responsible for monitoring the quality and quantity of the production output and ensuring that they meet established standards.
  • Supervising and directing second shift employees: You will be responsible for guiding and directing employees under your supervision to ensure that production processes are carried out efficiently and safely.
  • Reporting on production metrics: You will be responsible for reporting on production metrics such as productivity, efficiency, and quality to senior management.
  • Maintaining production standards: You will be responsible for ensuring that all production processes are in line with established standards in order to maximize efficiency and minimize waste.
  • Ensuring adherence to established safety regulations: You will be responsible for ensuring that all safety regulations are followed by your team members, particularly in potentially hazardous areas.
  • Training and developing employees: You will be responsible for training and developing your team members to ensure that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their jobs effectively.
  • Coordinating with other departments: You will be expected to work collaboratively with other departments to ensure smooth and efficient production runs.


To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • Knowledge of production processes and equipment
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher in a technical field preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, such as blueprints and schematics
  • Ability to make decisions quickly and problem-solve under pressure
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team of employees
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and able to focus on the task at hand
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Flexibility and willingness to work different shifts as needed.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer programs
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations and procedures
