Production Supervisor, Armtec Defense Technologies


Armtec Defense Technologies (Armtec) is an operating unit of the Transdigm Group (NYSE: TDG), an industry leader in aerospace and defense products and services. Armtec is comprised of three business units producing subcomponents for ordnance in Coachella, CA; decoy countermeasure flares in Camden AR; and radar countermeasure chaff in Lillington NC. This position is staffed in Coachella, at Armtec’s world-class, sole-source production facility for felted fiber nitrocellulose combustible cartridge cases for medium and large caliber military ammunition; and pyrophoric payloads for training grenades.

Job Summary


Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures, given priority to safety. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complains and resolving problems.

Qualifications


  • Manufacturing background required
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, common fractions, decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  • Ability to write reports and procedure manuals
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business reports
  • Must be dependable, responsible, and accurate and have the ability to deal with people effectively.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and have mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from various groups
