Job Description

Position Title:

Production Supervisor


Pay Rate:

$84,400 - $95,000 (PL-09)

Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range. Variable pay may provide additional opportunities for financial awards. This job is eligible to participate in IP’s annual incentive plan.

The Job You Will Perform:

  • Assess facility goals and expectations against performance standards and develop corrective action plans to close gaps
  • Manage leading indicator efforts including safe work observation process, 5S, hazard recognition and controls
  • Responsible for supporting and fostering the safety culture, safety first mindset
  • Any other duties assigned by the Management team.
  • Performs random inspections of all quality and safety policies and procedures.
  • Audit Reporting systems to ensure the employees have correct data entered for any analysis that may be performed for production and waste accountability.
  • Ensure employees complete appropriate paperwork to include all downtime, runtime and setup times, documentation for production and quality purposes.
  • Lead and motivate employees; by setting an example of superior behavior, attitude and performance to work efficiently and effectively.
  • Work with minimum Supervision, delegate, evaluate challenges to seek out support when needed.
  • Actively promote and ensure compliance with safety, quality and other programs and initiatives utilized within the organization.
  • Evaluating employee performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; promoting safety, quality production and teamwork; and resolving conflicts.
  • Identify the gaps that need addressed to ensure our systems are effective.
  • Effectively communicate operational information in both oral and written format at all levels: hourly employees, other supervisors, plant management, office personnel, and outside customers and vendors.
  • Supervise employees in the daily production, to include hands-on training, planning, assigning, and directing work
  • Monitor raw materials to ensure the proper raw materials are being used per customer specs, if a substitution is required, complete approval documentation before converting specs
  • Maintains necessary documentation, reports, time approvals for direct reports.
  • Hold employees accountable prior to incident, and if an incident occurs for failure to follow safety policies.
  • Physical requirements include continuously seeing, standing, walking, talking, hearing/listening, and frequently lifting up to 50lbs.

The Skills You Will Bring:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; Presentation and delivery skills
  • Prior experience in the Litho, Preprint packaging industry or prepress experience preferred.
  • Aptitude for organization, prioritization and managing multiple tasks
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years’ Supervisory experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
