The job of the production planner is to plan product lines to meet shifting weekly and monthly projections, manage inventory levels, and provide staffing plans to fulfill production demand in a way that ensures peak performance and minimizes delays.
Duties of a production planner: Production Planner
Examines sales orders, drawings, and other production work documentation to comprehend production needs.
Creates a weekly manufacturing plan by calculating the amount of labor, machinery, and raw materials required to meet production demand.
In order to ensure that jobs are finished on time, the scheduling team works with the purchasing, scheduling, and production teams to plan jobs based on the availability of resources, including personnel, materials, and supplies.
provides management with forecasts for staffing placement and shift scheduling to continuously fulfill production needs.
Working with the purchase and production teams, supports the resolution of problems including shortages, internal and external purchase orders, and production delays that could affect the timely delivery of products.
gives the sales team lead-time data so they may respond to clients' inquiries in a suitable manner.

Needs for Production Planner:
Bachelor's or an associate's degree is preferred.
It is necessary to have at least two years of expertise in a comparable discipline, such as project management or production planning.
solid analytical skills, solid quantitative skills, and excellent oral and written English communication skills are essential.
Strong leadership, risk management, and task management abilities are required.
Must be exceptionally organized and pay close attention to details.
