Job Information


The Product Training Specialist is responsible for using industry and product knowledge, along with a proficiency in adult education to develop and deliver learning solutions that enable the success of Bobcat’s dealers. A key responsibility is to facilitate training classes for dealer sales specialists on specific products using in-person, virtual, and hybrid delivery methods. This position will act as an internal product expert to combine multiple perspectives into holistic and innovative learning solutions that maximize the impact to the business.


This position may be located in West Fargo, ND or Denver, CO, and a remote location may be considered.


Role & Responsibility


Training Content Delivery


  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SME’s) and other trainers to conduct hands-on training at indoor and outdoor field events.
  • Facilitate instructor-led training (ILT) classes to multiple levels of customers, including implementing pre- and post-training communications and activities, and managing class logistics.
  • Effectively deliver all types of product training, including, but not limited to, competitive comparison training, selling skills to a technical audience, sales methodology training, and sales specialist on-boarding training.
  • Successfully lead interactive and engaging virtual events that enable sales specialists to be more effective in their jobs.


Training Content Development


  • Manage subject matter experts and stakeholder relationships to clearly identify, extract, and synthesize complex technical material into high quality, effective learning content that drives desired outcomes.
  • Partner with internal and/or external LMS team for eLearning course development.
  • Generate and visually present metrics and analytics to prove the need for and defend the effectiveness of learning programs.
  • Implement projects and hold agencies accountable to deliver defined training content.\
  • Collaborate with instructional designers, training specialists, training managers, and product management to define and develop learning using the 4X8 Proficiency Design Model, ADDIE, LTEM, and other proven product design models for an external, channel audience
  • Proactively assess business initiatives and client needs to help training managers identify training opportunities and determine appropriate solutions.
  • Develop and deliver remote training using appropriate educational technology and channels.


Dealer & Customer Interactions


  • Professionally represent Bobcat at product demonstrations, dealer open houses, field training sessions, trade shows and fairs, and other events.
  • Provide timely and accurate answers to product questions and needs.


Competitive Knowledge


  • Arm dealer sales specialists with critical and adaptive training on Bobcat advantages.
  • Stay abreast of current trends in the compact equipment industry, especially as they relate to products, sales, and dealer training.
  • Develop opportunities for peer-to-peer learning that will enable the sharing of competitive comparisons and feedback.


Job Requirement


  • Ability to command respect of sales specialists and diverse audiences through verbal and written skills.
  • Experience required: Minimum of 2 years in technical training or technical sales training.
  • Education required: Bachelor's degree or significant experience in lieu of degree required.
  • Ability to facilitate engaging and experiential learning programs.
  • Capability of developing industry leading online and in-person training content.
  • A background/aptitude in agricultural, construction or industrial motorized, mobile equipment.
  • A demonstration of persuasive selling skills.
  • Travel required: 40-60%.
  • Proficient in data mining, research, and analysis.

This salary range for this position is $52,465 - $72,139 depending on experience and other factors.
