Job Description

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual to increase their knowledge base and experience around digital products!

The Product and Technology team is looking for a Product Owner for Alight’s core Health & Welfare engine. The Product Owner is responsible for the end-to-end product development lifecycle, including gathering and prioritizing requirements, leading development sprints, acceptance testing, and working closely with UX design, engineering, analytics, and client delivery to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. The Product Owner’s job also includes ensuring that the product supports the company’s overall strategy and goals.

A successful candidate for this role has regularly shipped consumer or enterprise software products (web, mobile), possesses a unique blend of business acumen and technical savviness; and the drive to make the product vision a reality. This person must be able to communicate with all areas of the company at all levels and can execute at both a strategic and tactical level.

Key Responsibilities

The individual will be involved in the following critical activities:

  • Lead User Story development and prioritization into sprint cycles.
  • Act as the Product Owner in an Agile environment.
  • Partner with Product Managers, Engineering Managers, and business stakeholders to ensure successful deployment and adoption of features.
  • Drive product development from discovery to launch with ownership of the product development lifecycle and collaborate closely with stakeholders (scrum master, architect, engineers, design, project management office and vendor).
  • Write SQL Queries
  • Manage the product backlog.
  • Lead and participate in scoping, requirement gathering, UI and technical solution design, implementation, and validation.

Knowledge, Education, Certification, Skills & Technical Proficiencies

  • Industry certifications preferred.
  • BA/BS Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information System, or related experience.

Work Experience

  • Demonstrated learning in an agile environment
  • Benefits, healthcare, financial or HR technology experience is a plus
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • 1+ years in a product management or technology role
  • Familiarity with technology and ability to interact in technical discussions with IT stakeholders

Pay Transparency Statement: Alight takes into consideration a candidate’s experience, education, certification/credentials, market data, internal equity, and geography when determining an offer for a successful employment candidate, and Alight does so on an individualized, non-discriminatory basis. Therefore, an offer may fall anywhere between the estimated minimum base salary for this role of $76,000.00/year (for full time employees) and the estimated maximum base salary for this role of $132,400.00/year (for full time employees). In addition to a base salary, this position may be eligible for a bonus and/or other incentive plans.
