Traditional 235 work days per year

Essential Functions and Objectives:

Manages the design, user requirements, documentation, and strategic implementation of system(s) used by central staff, teachers, principals, and parents of the District. Functions as a Business/IT liaison working
closely with all levels of key operational central office departments and school-based customers and designated Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) on key, strategic, tactical, and operational initiatives enterprise-wide.
  • Meets with business for discovery and to understand and document current state and future state of business processes; understands business needs and translates business needs into requirements for use by a cross-functional software development team; documents business requirements and organizes them into features, stories and tasks; provides oversight and support to business analysts and reviews, edits and approve project proposals for submission.
  • Represents the business’ needs and interests and serves as a liaison for the business; communicates with business partners on progress, risks and roadblocks.
  • Partners with, mentors and trains strategic stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
  • Facilitates additional agile practices in accordance with district methodology to ensure project proposals are prepared for consideration.
  • Facilitates progression from reactive to proactive environment, and quantifies improvements achieved as appropriate; proactively identifies/detects, analyzes, forecasts and monitors emerging patterns/trends, data anomalies, process optimization and/or additional business opportunities; keeps current with the latest software, techniques and practices of product management researches and shares new ideas in product management.
  • Participates as a member of a cross functional software development team; consistently and accurately set expectations and gains buy-in as necessary; evangelizes existing technology platforms as potential solutions to key stakeholders; and balances the interests of academics, business and information technology and prioritizes tasks accordingly.
  • Modifies requirements as needed and identifies and removes roadblocks for the team as they arise.
  • Functions as de facto team lead of cross-functional software development team, which includes but is not limited to, scheduling and facilitating agile ceremonies; backlog grooming and prioritization, ensuring adherence to the organization’s norms, methodology, and processes; ensuring the team stays on track and the project stays on schedule; and delegating and assigning sprint tasks as needed.
  • Ensures adherence to organizational norms and standards as they relate to agile practices and requirements documentation.
  • Researches and resolves support incidents that may include but are not limited to updating content on websites and other applications, researching and documenting bugs or defects, running reports and posting alerts or messages on websites or applications.

Knowledge, Experience & Other Qualifications:
  • Ability to interact diplomatically and persuasively with a wide range of individuals who have varying degrees of technical knowledge and expertise.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task and juggle management of several high-priority projects in parallel.
  • Outstanding facilitation, presentation, and verbal and written communication skills with the ability to inspire others.
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Superior leadership, coaching and mentoring skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Three (3) plus years of business analyst (BA) experience, product owner/product manager, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to set goals, work independently, and drive results.
  • Knowledge of Gherkin requirements writing.
  • Familiarity with prototyping.
  • Familiarity with Jira.
  • Advanced proficiency with Google Workspace productivity and collaboration tools.

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or relevant work experience in Information Technology (IT).
