Job description

Pegasus Solar is the nation’s fastest growing manufacturer of rooftop solar mounting systems. At Pegasus, you’ll join a fun, dynamic team, passionate about delivering the best products and service to accelerate widespread adoption of rooftop solar.

Founded in 2012, Pegasus works in close partnership with solar installers and manufacturing experts to design and engineer systems that are better at every step. We strive to provide installers with a better day on the job – and homeowners a better product for life. If you’re driven to help improve the future of solar, we might just be able to offer you a better career too.

Product Manager:

As a Product Manager, you will be responsible for managing the product development lifecycle, from ideation to product launch, ensuring that all deliverables are met on time, within budget, and to the required quality and certification standards. As part of the Engineering & Manufacturing Teams, you’ll collaborate on interpreting customer requirements to aid in improving designs for functionality and high-volume manufacturing.

With strong leadership skills, technical acumen, and attention to detail, you can help us improve the solar installation process and accelerate the adoption of solar. If you have a passion for developing innovative products and a proven track record of success in product management, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.

The position is based at our headquarters in Richmond, CA, with flexibility to partially work remotely.

Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with current and prospective customers to understand their needs, identify opportunities, and develop products that meet those needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, sales, and marketing to ensure that products meet customer requirements and are successfully brought to market.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and the intellectual property landscape to inform product design, marketing, and pricing decisions.
  • Analyze product performance metrics and customer feedback to identify areas for improvement and make data-driven recommendations for product enhancements and new product development.
  • Develop and help manage the product roadmap and prioritize product development efforts based on customer needs, market opportunities, and business goals.
  • Develop and execute product strategies for Pegasus’ product portfolio that align with our overall goals and objectives.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a track record of using data to inform product decisions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. MBA preferred.
  • Experience with Asana, Slack, MS Office, and Google Docs.
  • Mandarin and/or Spanish speaking is a plus
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with internal and external teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing the product development lifecycle from ideation to launch.
  • At least 5 years of experience in product management of mechanical products.
  • Creative capacity for developing new ways to do things better, cheaper, faster.
