Procurement Lead Jobs

Kate Somerville Skincare is looking for an energetic, highly motivated professional to join the business as Procurement Lead.

The Kate Somerville brand is in the midst of a period of high growth and transformation. This role is key to delivering on our goals and objectives and represents an opportunity to have a major impact on the Supply Chain capabilities and performance of Kate Somerville.

Reporting into the Manager of Supply Chain Planning and Procurement, this role will play a pivotal part in building best-in-class operational capability and driving transformation in the areas of Supplier Management, Materials Planning, and Procurement. The role is accountable for supplier performance, inventory efficiency, supply availability and cost. The transformation agenda includes optimizing the supplier base, onboarding new suppliers, strengthening existing relationships, developing and deploying supplier metrics and improving supply chain flexibility and reliability.

The role will work closely with the leads in the rest of the business (Marketing, R&D, Quality, and Finance), playing a critical role in cross company projects such as new product or commercial innovation. As Kate Somerville is in a period of dynamic growth and transformation, the responsibilities below are expected to change and evolve as business needs change, providing opportunity for professional growth and development. This is a hybrid position and requires being in our Culver City office 3 days/week (currently Tue-Thu).

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

• Generate and complete purchase orders, work orders, transfer orders in NetSuite.
• Manage product and material purchase order cycle from purchase to delivery.
• Lead regular supplier reviews with key supplier partners. Advance deeper collaboration with strategic partners to shorten leadtimes and increase Supply Chain flexibility.
• Purchase Order Cycle
• Own component inventory and inventory targets. Partner with Supply Planning and Contract Manufacturing lead to balance lead time and safety stock plans.
• Maintain product status and item file cleanliness
• Participate in development of key vendor performance metrics. Track vendor performance against key metrics and drive accountability across supply base.
• Materials Planning
• Manage component artwork transitions to minimize obsolescence.
• Collaborate/Participate with Unilever Prestige Supplier Optimization efforts.
• Oversee delivery of components and raw materials to contract manufacturers.
• Drive supplier compliance to usage of critical software solutions.
• Balance cost tiers, MOQs, inventory targets to ensure contract manufacturers can produce on time.
• On time delivery of package components
• Landed Package component cost – inclusive of component production, inbound freight, customs, and duties
• Primary point of contact for all packaging component manufacturers.
• New item set-up and BOM creation and maintenance
• Partner with R&D to evaluate and onboard potential new suppliers.
• Place purchase orders, lead regular supplier production reviews, and arrange delivery to Kate Somerville Distribution center or contract manufacturing sites.
• Item Master Data Management
• Translate finished good supply plan into relevant materials purchase plan.
• Optimize purchase quantities to optimize product cost and meet Supply Planning inventory availability objectives.
• Core KPIs
• Expedite or push out orders as necessary to support KS Inventory and service goals.
• Supplier Management

Qualifications & Experience

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, willing to learn, ask questions, seek solutions, active problem solve, and push for change
• 2-5 years of relevant and progressive supply chain or procurement experience
• Strong knowledge of supply chain and planning logic in cosmetics, personal care, CPG, and FDA regulated industries.
• Experience with ERP systems and processes - experience with NetSuite and/or Oracle Supply Chain Planning Cloud a plus
• Experience with active negotiation and strong decision-making skills
• Strong proficiency in Excel building complex models and analyzing large data sets.
• Excellent organizational and prioritization skills with a strong attention to detail.
• Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field
• Strong communication and negotiation skills - written and verbal, and ability to build cross-functional partnerships and work with cross-functional teams.

The expected base salary range for this position is $70,000 to $85,000. The exact base salary is determined by various factors including experience, skills, education, geographic location, and budget.

This position is also eligible for participation in the company discretionary bonus plan, based on personal performance and company results.
