The California Department of Justice (DOJ) is seeking a highly organized and skilled Lead Procurement Specialist to join our team at the California Justice Information Services Division. In this role, you will be responsible for independently managing and organizing complex tasks related to the acquisition of major information technology systems, services, software, supplies, and equipment through lease, rental, or purchase within the Department of Justice's delegated purchasing authority.
Responsibilities:
- Independently manage the acquisition of major IT systems, services, software, supplies, and equipment through lease, rental, or purchase.
- Monitor and evaluate vendor performance and ensure contractual obligations are met.
- Ensure compliance with departmental and state procurement policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and reports.
- Plan, organize, and manage complex tasks related to procurement, contract, and asset management for IT projects and enterprise initiatives at the expert level.
Requirements:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of procurement practices, procedures, and regulations.
- Minimum of two years of experience in information technology procurement, contract management, and asset management.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
This is a 12-month limited term position, with the possibility of extension up to 24 months, or becoming a permanent position based on operational needs.
