Job Description
Process Improvement Technician
Position Summary
Process Improvement Technician will work with cross-functional teams to understand and help optimize productivity, quality, safety, and resolution of issues in relation to Manufacturing Operations. This role requires a challenging mix of hands-on work, solving problems, validation and driving solutions with cross-functional teams. The Process Improvement Technician requires skills and experience in creating process documentation that clearly and efficiently communicates concepts, ideas, and instructions and can effectively execute the training of those documents to all levels of the business. You will be on the front line between the process changes and full implementation.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
  • 6S projects and system for sustainable housekeeping
  • Aid in Shop floor adoption and usage of Tulip; Assist with our “Virtual Factory” initiative
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Assist with root cause identification and drive issue resolution back through the process to minimize rework
  • Ability to work under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines
  • Work with engineering on SOP updates/improvements and with trainers on implementation Support special projects for Operations as needed
  • Defect tracking, production data mining to better define problems and offer process improvements/suggestions based on findings
  • Ability to work overtime as assigned and commit to a flexible work schedule around business demand
  • Maintain good professional communication with different departments/stakeholders to maintain alignment and achieve common goals
  • Development and tracking of shop floor metrics
Education and Experience
  • High degree of organizational skills and time management
  • Exemplary verbal and written communication skills, with a proficiency in English grammar, spelling and punctuation.
  • Two year technical degree is preferred
  • Excellent listening and observation skills.
  • High Mechanical and/or electrical aptitude
  • Team player with a positive communication style and a proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team atmosphere
  • Driven and self-motivated individual
  • Work experience in lean manufacturing and warehousing is strongly preferred
  • Role model for high standards of professionalism
  • Must be able to lift up-to 50 lbs. unassisted
  • Possibility of frequent lifting, bending and pulling
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with heavy focus on quality and attention to detail
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time in performance of job functions
  • Operation of material handling equipment including forklifts and pallet jacks
Pay Rate:
$22.12 - $31.68
