Astera Health currently has a PRN (pro-re-nada) Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) opening in Wadena.

Schedule/Hours Available

• PRN: as needed, 12-hour to 24-hour shifts, varying nights, days and weekend opportunities per needs in the schedule

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Responding to the incident scene, assessing the situation on approach, beginning patient contact and primary assessment survey including, vital signs, airway breathing, circulation, bleeding and life threatening injuries.
• Providing limited security duties to Tri County Health Care as needed throughout the facility.
• Performing secondary assessment of non-life threatening injury/event.
• Performing appropriate level BLS patient care on the scene and during transport to the hospital in a safe and effective manner to provide for the physical and psychological needs of patient/family.
• Assisting with Basic Cardiac Life Support or ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support).
• Performing routine equipment/supply/vehicle checks

Education and experience required:

• Current EMSRB certification
• Current MN Drivers license
