Full-Time Position:

As a member of the Investment Team you will work closely with teams led by a Managing Director or Principal. Responsibilities are broad and involve many aspects of private equity investing. This person will be expected to take an active role in the analysis and modeling of prospective investment opportunities and monitoring of portfolio investments. As a member of the Investment Team you must possess highly advanced financial and data analysis skills consistent with and complementary to Roark's highly analytical approach to investment evaluation and long-term, growth-oriented investment strategy.

This person will be expected to support deal teams in many aspects of the investment process including due diligence, modeling, data analysis, and industry research. You will prepare materials for and participate in meetings of Roark's Investment Committee. This person will also be directly involved in portfolio management, including monitoring the performance of existing portfolio companies, interacting with portfolio company management teams on specific initiatives, and evaluating potential add-on acquisitions. They will also be expected to prepare detailed industry research and assist senior Roark investment professionals in developing investment strategies for new investment verticals that are consistent with Roark's investment criteria.

Requirements

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities of the new hire will include but not be limited to, the following:

  • Developing and / or overseeing critical business diligence work streams, including data analytics, consumer research, market studies, industry benchmarking, and management interviews
  • Leading construction of detailed financial models and valuation analyses
  • Performing initial review of transaction opportunities and discussing with senior members of the investment team
  • Supporting and reporting on key developments and initiatives at portfolio companies
  • Meaningfully contributing to confirmatory diligence work streams and debt financing / equity co-invest processes
  • Drafting investment memos for review by the Roark investment committee
  • Evaluating value-creation and strategic opportunities such as M&A or entering new markets/verticals

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Ideal candidates will possess the following qualifications and personal attributes:

  • Demonstrated ability to write and communicate effectively. Comfort interacting with C-level executives and third-party advisors
  • Strong business acumen, intellectual curiosity, and attention to detail
  • Solid foundational technical skills - finance, accounting, modeling, and data analytics
  • Desire and ability to work in a collaborative team environment
  • Genuine enthusiasm and curiosity for investing
  • Current Investment Banking Analyst or Associate. Experience on transactions in the consumer services / business services sectors is a plus
