The Team


Data Consulting is a group within Fidelity Workplace Investing built to serve and partner with Fidelity’s strategic clients on their data and technology needs. The Data Technology Team's dynamic and diverse skills are leveraged to complete sophisticated and exciting projects in partnership with both internal and external partners.


We design and build customized solutions to address unique scenarios on behalf of clients. We extract data from a variety of sources (Snowflake, SQLMI, client feeds/files, etc.), transform the data, then output the results based on requirements.


Our team engages across Workplace Consulting in data quality improvement efforts that span single and multiple product lines (i.e. Health and Welfare, Defined Benefit, Defined Contribution, Stock Plan Services).


We are seeking an experienced Defined Benefits Analyst, however, there will be opportunities to grow your knowledge and gain experience working with the other WI products!


The Expertise You Have And The Skills You Bring


  • Proven background with Microsoft Office products
  • Proficiency with ETL methods and tools – Informatica and Snap Logic preferred; experience with cloud based ETL tools a plus (e.g. Azure Data Factory)
  • You are comfortable reviewing the output of others and providing feedback
  • You take ownership of your work and complete it with quality and efficiency
  • Experience in a benefit’s outsourcing or consulting role
  • You are comfortable working with data and databases
  • Proficient knowledge of SQL. Ability to write efficient and highly optimized queries across large volumes of data
  • Learning new tools and innovative ways of doing things is exciting and interesting to you
  • A willingness to find uncommon solutions to fix complex problems.
  • Knowledge of Jira is a plus
  • Knowledge of Fidelity’s backend product tables (DBR1, WIDE, Snowflake, etc.) a plus
  • You proactively communicate when a project deliverable or requirements are not clear.
  • You work well in teams and collaborate with others to tackle problems.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
  • Your analytical and problem-solving skills are a key strength and have great attention to detail.
  • Strong domain knowledge of the WI Defined Benefit business


The Value You Deliver


  • Working with consultants across Data, Healthcare, Retirement, Communications and Administration consulting practices on a wide variety of projects, you will be designing and maintaining applications, identifying data issues and root cause which you will help your clients resolve.
  • Build solutions that are well documented and easy to support once complete.
  • Integrating with many different systems and lines of business to solve problems and provide custom solutions to your clients’ challenges.
