We are seeking an equally passionate, articulate, and innovative principal architect to join our highly skilled Enterprise Architecture team in support of delivering high-quality solutions. Reporting to the Senior Director, Enterprise Architecture, the Principal Architect’s responsibilities include driving technology adoption, setting direction, focusing on enterprise level, long-term objectives driving predictability, efficiency, and reliability, and maintaining an “influencer” mindset as a method of bridging these needs. Influencing isn’t a nefarious activity; it is about meaningfully helping stakeholders reach their objectives while remaining aligned with the company’s strategy and creating a multiplier effect. You will be responsible for analyzing the current state of our architecture, identifying gaps and opportunities, and developing target state architectures to guide future technology roadmaps. You will also be responsible for defining and communicating architecture standards, guidelines, and best practices, and for ensuring they are adhered to across the organization.
To be successful as a principal architect, you must have excellent technical, analytical, and project management skills and a passion to learn and teach. You should also have strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Initially, this Principal Architect will be supporting several government contracts.

To be qualified for this position:
  • Ability to travel as needed – minimal travel anticipated
  • Experience developing technical documentation to support solution architecture and designs, documenting all architecture and design decisions
  • 2+ years of experience architecting solutions in a cloud environment, AWS preferred
  • Excellent writing skills and a strong ability to grasp technical concepts
  • Working experience with Enterprise Architecture, Business Architecture, and defining Technology Roadmaps
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or equivalent work experience
  • 8+ years in business system analysis, designing products and features and supporting all aspects of required technical documentation
  • 4+ years of experience analyzing and proposing target state architecture

You will be:
  • Analyze the current state of our architecture, identify gaps and opportunities, and develop target state architectures
  • Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies, and evaluate their potential impact on our enterprise architecture
  • Serve as an architecture conduit for external requests and queries and provides education on enterprise architecture directions and goals
  • Oversees innovation, future products, and tech selection
  • Define and communicate the enterprise architecture roadmap, and ensure that it aligns with the business objectives
  • Develop and maintain enterprise architecture principles, standards, guidelines, and best practices
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including business leaders, IT leaders, and external partners
  • Provide guidance and direction to project teams, ensuring that they follow the architecture standards and guidelines
  • Participate in all architecture and design decisions, and conduct documentation review and approval processes
  • Lead technical discussions and build consensus among engineers
  • Interact with business strategists, comprehend design impact on systems, and develop measurable business cases that support architecture
  • Analyze IT industry and market trends, determine the potential impact upon the enterprise, and identify and analyze enterprise business drivers to derive enterprise business, information, technical, and solution architecture requirements
  • Support engineering and architecture efforts for number of high visibility programs
  • Work with stakeholders to understand their business requirements and develop solutions that meet their needs
  • Collaborate with other architects and technology leaders to ensure that our architecture is integrated and aligned with other systems and applications
  • Capable of change in continually changing business and technology climates
