Brightspeed has an exciting opportunity for a Principal Network Architect to join our team! As the Principal Architect on the Network Architecture team, you play a critical role in the Access space with regards to Multi-dwelling Unit (MDU) and Multi-Tenant Unit (MTU) architecture. You will partner directly with the Director of Network Architecture to make the strategic and daily operating decisions that go into building the Brightspeed Fiber Network, as well as optimizing our copper network solutions.


This role will help ensure cross-functional collaboration, and organizational performance and help team members deliver on KPI. Additionally, in this role, you will ensure the team’s administrative functions are constantly updated, deadlines are met, and a great culture is created across all members.


The Principal Network Architect reports directly to the Director Network Architecture but will also require daily collaboration with all the Operations Support & Innovation leadership team.

As Principal Network Architect you will have the following responsibilities:


  • Design and develop wired, and wireless solutions across these property types (MDU/MTU)
  • Partner closely with Access Architects to design appropriate ONT solutions in MDU/MTU environments
  • Subject Matter Expert for Enterprise grade Wi-Fi solutions and designing support tools to Operationalize the offering
  • Provide status updates to the Governance team for ELT/SLT readouts.
  • Provide actionable recommendations for improvement, so all corporate and internal team deadlines and important dates are met.
  • Subject Matter Expert on the deployment of fiber-internet services across various MDU/MTU environments
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical paths by maintaining accurate project plans with real-time milestone, task and project health data for all your projects
  • Strong organizational and communication skills to facilitate working relationships between appropriate internal resources and any subject matter experts from other functional areas


Qualifications


WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:


  • Great communication skills to work cross-functionally with teams to drive deliverables.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Telecom Network design and deployment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, specifically PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • Experience with complex telecom network architecture across (voice, transport, metro, access, outside plant and in-home)
  • Strong expertise in Enterprise Wi-Fi solutions
  • Strong experience in Access space including multi-port ONT solutions.
  • Great presentation skills and able to summarize deep, complex issues into executive-level material.
