As a principal at ECG, you’ll be a critical member of our consulting team. Being a principal at ECG is a significant leadership position within the firm, a stepping-stone to the role of partner, and an opportunity to own equity in the firm. A principal has already emerged as an industry thought leader capable of managing and selling complex engagements with superior client relationship-management skills.

Your Responsibilities May Include:
  • Playing an integral role in the recruitment and development of staff consultants.
  • Working with the client to articulate complex issues requiring attention and strategizing with consultant teams on project approach.
  • Actively managing a portfolio of client engagements and consulting staff, assuring all contractual targets and deliverables are met.
  • Serving as a thought leader on a national stage.
  • Overseeing the design, development, and implementation of solutions to drive long-lasting success for the client.
  • Participating in firm and ambulatory services practice management.
  • Being a leader in the firm and contributing to the firm’s culture and success.
  • Collaborating in the continued growth and development of the ambulatory services practice.
  • Managing a high-performing cadre of professionals and building and developing a team of consulting leaders to sustain lasting relationships in the industry.
  • Marketing and selling $1.5 million in annual consulting revenue.

Our Expectations of You

  • Experience selling and leading ambulatory assessments to include financial performance, provider productivity, revenue cycle, patient access, clinic operations, EHR workflows, provider compensation, and value-based care initiatives
  • Demonstrated record of achievement in selling and managing engagements
  • Demonstrated focus on staff development, coaching, and retention, with a refined ability to provide constructive and timely feedback
  • Outstanding drive, determination, and desire to be part of a growing elite-level consulting firm
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain deep client relationships
  • Demonstrated record of solving complex problems, directing and managing individuals, and completing challenging projects
  • Demonstrated record of establishing, maintaining, and expanding client relationships over the long term
  • Progressive leadership experience in a management consulting firm, delivering ambulatory-related projects
  • Ability to travel at least 50% to 75% of the time
  • Master’s degree in business administration and/or a health-related field; bachelor’s degree in business or a health-related field preferred
  • Strong written and verbal presentation skills
  • Strong knowledge of and passion for the provider healthcare sector
  • Viewed as a thought leader through marketing activities such as networking with potential clients, participating in professional societies, and publishing and presenting thought leadership (whitepapers, speeches, and articles)
  • Ability to identify opportunities for introducing additional ECG services to existing clients
  • Track record of managing multiple engagements, including work plans, deliverables, budgets and schedules, and accounts receivable
