The Pricing Manager will optimize and standardize pricing models and strategies to maximize the value of the products and service offered by the Repair Business Unit. As a subject matter expert in railcar repair procedures, the Pricing Manager will review and prepare quotes, bids, and contracts with accuracy and standardized pricing models.


Skills:


  • Leverage resources across the organization to refine business case pricing decisions and analytics.
  • Manage projects to ensure initiatives are delivered on-time and on-budget and deliver the required target benefits.
  • Create value pricing for both internal and external repair customers.
  • Support the internal transfer pricing strategy program.
  • Align the geographic pricing strategy and practices for North America business units in collaboration with business leader’s growth strategies.
  • Ensure business systems, pricing lookup tools, and publications are accurate with updated pricing models.
  • Manage, track, and respond to requests for quotes (RFQ), proposals (RFP), and other pricing information. Meet all contract and bid request deadlines as outlined by the Commercial team.
  • Maintain and utilize complex financial models for various pricing projects. Track pricing performance, analyze trends, and support internal requests for pricing guidance.
  • Collaborate with Write-up teams to standardize railcar repair services pricing models and strategies.
  • Provide guidance to business development teams on pricing strategies and processes.
  • Maintain a pricing strategy in collaboration with business leaders across the North American Network.
  • Education/Experience/Qualifications:


    • Energetic and entrepreneurial approach and a strong attention to detail.
    • Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with all departments within company.
    • At least 5+ years of experience in pricing analysis, business analytics, or financial analysis.
    • High level understanding of financial ratios and how they are affected by inputs throughout the pricing model.
    • Advanced organizational, problem solving, analytical, and financial modeling skills required.
    • Ability to effectively manage multiple firm deadlines in a busy environment. Strong, creative business writing skills are essential.
    • Strong project management skills.
    • Detail-oriented, with the ability to identify all cost elements within often complex requests for proposals.
    • Proven experience at collecting and analyzing competitor pricing strategies.
    • Able to work both independently as an individual contributor and/or with a direct/indirect staff.
    • Ability to respond quickly to changing market dynamics.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
    • Bachelor’s degree in management, accounting, economics, finance or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • At least 5+ years of experience in railcar repair operations, including Billing Repair Card (BRC) write-up administration and regulations.
