Contributes to the overall success of the U.S. Legal Department by leading all aspects of preservation and e-discovery in support of litigation and employment counsel in matters involving the Bank's U.S. Global Banking & Markets business.

Is this role right for you? You will be responsible for:

• Coordinate with external counsel and e-discovery vendors on transfer of data and document review.
• Maintain knowledge and awareness of best practices and trends in industry and prepare proposals for improvements.
• Serve as lead U.S. contact to coordinate across departments on preservation and collection matters, as well as e-discovery processes and best practices.
• Consult and advise on ESI agreements or specifications in subpoenas and document requests.
• Assist with processing ESI for internal reviews and creating review sets.
• Liaise with the enterprise preservation and e-discovery teams and assist with scoping data requests and providing status updates throughout the process to U.S. counsel.
• Resolve issues related to preservation and e-discovery processes, internally and/or with external e-discovery vendors or external counsel.
• Manage identification, preservation, collection and processing of electronically stored information (“ESI”) in response to internal and external investigations, litigations, and other inquiries related to the U.S. Global Banking & Markets business.
• Manage e-discovery vendor relationships.
• Implement and monitor legal holds, in consultation with U.S. litigation and employment counsel, including, but not limited to, working with custodians to identify relevant documents.
• Facilitate software implementations, where appropriate, for preservation and collection purposes.

Do you have the skills you need to succeed? We'd love to work with you, if you have:

• Knowledge of enterprise technologies
• Experience managing full e-discovery lifecycle, including forensic technologies, techniques and workflows
• Ability to work independently and balance multiple priorities
• Knowledge of ESI data processing, review and data hosting platforms
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Certified E-Discovery Specialist (CEDS) certification preferred
• Experience in financial/banking industry and with cross-border discovery issues
• Bachelor’s degree
• 3+ years relevant litigation support and preservation and e-discovery experience at a large law firm and/or e-discovery vendor and/or in-house
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Experience managing legal hold systems, processes and procedures
